At Bramble Energy, the crux of all we do is to ensure that our clients maximize their profits by making wise decisions in energy purchase and utilization.
As an integrated energy and power development company in Africa, we are aware that many companies spend as much as fifty percent or more of their operational cost on energy. This can be really crippling to business growth as they can sometimes become averse to taking bold business expansion decisions since energy keeps cutting into bottom line profits and increasing the payback periods on their expansion investments.
We believe that with our competence and expertise we can assist companies cut down on their energy cost, which will in turn lead to more resources being made available for other areas of expansion, and set up power projects to efficiently distribute energy.
Our competence spans across these core areas :
Energy is one of the major inputs for the economic development of any country, and especially in developing countries, the energy sector remains ever important due to increasing energy needs and huge investments needed to meet them.
Power is a major cost element in every business, it is therefore imperative that a cost optimum power generation solution, that will enable business risk minimization is developed.
CHP is a process which generates electricity whilst also capturing usable heat that is produced in this process. This contrasts with conventional ways of generating electricity where vast amounts of heat is simply wasted.
We study our clients’ energy usage and proffer technological solutions to reduce or completely cut out high energy consumption and wastage.
Energy is one of the major inputs for the economic development of any country, and especially in developing countries, the energy sector remains ever important due to increasing energy needs and huge investments needed to meet them. Energy management ensures energy is channeled in the most cost-effective manner.
Energy management entails the systems and procedures used in managing energy to maximize profits, minimize costs and enhance competitive positions.
Reduce costs – this is becoming increasingly important as energy costs rise.
Reduce risk – the more energy you consume, the greater the risk that energy price increases or supply shortages could seriously affect your profitability, or even make it impossible for your business/organization to continue. With energy management you can reduce this risk by reducing your demand for energy and by controlling it so as to make it more predictable.
In order to be effective, energy management requires the implementation of a plan or system which is flexible, value-driven and in alignment with the strategic aims of your organisation.
At Bramble we help develop energy management systems tailored to the size and the needs of your organisation. We make sure that just as the world advances towards energy-saving culture and technology; our clients’ energy resources are managed and optimized.
We employ the use of energy audits to determine where, when, why and how energy is used in clients’ facilities. Most importantly, we measure the amount of energy and financial investment that will be saved after effective and corrective energy solutions are implemented.
Bramble Energy helps you develop effective program structures that makes energy conservation not just do-able for your organization but also a process all parties are involved in. Simple changes in human actions in clients’ facilities can quickly lead to significant energy savings. With our programs, we ensure that there is a meeting of both technological and human changes to achieve huge cuts in your organization’s energy consumption.
Our clients have the option to choose low cost or investment grade capital cost options for the technological equipment changes to be made.
Accuracy ensures profitability. When it comes to efficiently operating a building, inaccurate utility metering and billing can have a drastic effect on profitability. Our integrated energy solutions are designed to take the guesswork out of your job and provide accurate numbers on the energy usage in your building.
These solutions incorporate sub-tenant billing, checking utility bills and demand forecasting for optimizing costs. Sub-tenant billing is common in various facilities such as multi-tenant commercial buildings, apartments, student dormitories, shopping malls and data centers. Using cutting edge digital technology, energy can now be monitored and metered with the use of smart and intuitive meters.
A smart meter is a digital device that monitors the amount of energy consumed in kWH. It has intuitive features such as remote meter reading, interactive graphs and charts, real-time sensors, power outage notification and energy detection systems. The smart metering system works with a two-communication system between the device and the supplier. With the high accuracy of our smart meters and the metering methodology employ, we are able to capture energy consumption in any facility to the finest details, thus guaranteeing correct measurement and ensuring accurate energy accounting.
Our advanced billing system service verifies all tenant-related usage, creates invoices, and generates billing packages for payment to the facility manager. we ensure thorough and continuous examination of all bills to determine usage and billing based on client leases, building agreements, and tariffs. Our demand forecasts also enable proper plans of generation as well as optimizing the consumption, particularly in markets of fluctuating energy costs and various generation methods.
At Bramble, our methods ensure:
1. Consumers are charged exactly for the energy they have consumed (in case that tariffs are regulated).
2. Monitoring the system allows for continuous tracking of energy expenses, enabling cost reduction and accurate investment planning.
Bramble is positioning itself at the forefront of instilling energy efficiency across industries. We have designed energy savings measurement and verification (M&V) services to fulfill that purpose.
Energy management systems require monitoring and analyzing of its processes to be fully effective. The data recorded will show saving opportunities, raise awareness and detect important energy consumption decisions that will be made to save costs. Measurement and Verification (M&V) demonstrates the value of energy efficiency programs by providing accurate, transparent and consistent assessments of their methods and performance.
The main objectives of M&V processes are to assess the performance of an energy efficiency program or project, to measure the energy or demand savings, and to determine if the program is generating the expected level of savings.
A key part of our M&V process is the development of an ‘M&V Plan’, which defines how the savings analysis will be conducted before the Energy Conservation Measure (ECM) is implemented. The ECM refers to the technology or structure change we put in place to save energy and costs for our clients. This provides a degree of objectivity that is absent if the savings are simply evaluated after implementation.
The goal of verification is to verify the savings calculations used in the original energy conservation analysis. The variables and assumptions used in the savings calculations are verified through measurement, performance data trending, system diagnostics, and utility bill analysis. By comparing the estimated savings from the energy model to the data collected through measurement, the verified or true energy savings realized by the project can be defined.
Our energy efficiency measurement and verification program covers:
1. Compilation of reference database
2. Establishment of baseline
3. Development of an M&V plan
4. Conducting post-retrofit M&V
5. Monitoring and adjustment of energy savings
6. Issuing of M&V reports
7. Monitoring of long-term energy savings
We design and implement custom M&V programs for specific retrofits, or for whole facilities, which are:
1. Accurate;
2. Conservative;
3. Relevant; and
4. Transparent.

An independent power producer (IPP) is an entity which owns facilities that generate electric power for sale to utilities and other end users. IPPs may operate in the off grid distributed energy mode, providing energy supply to off-takers in a geographical cluster. They generate power under contract for their customers, typically utilities or industrial companies or other power off-takers with significant load demand in the geographical location.
Corporate organizations have specific needs in terms of energy purchase. Our offer of Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) allows such organizations access to reliable and tailor-made power supply.
Using first-class technologies and materials, Bramble offers a cost competitive solutions to its clients. We work with our Independent Power Producer (IPP) clients to identify, develop, finance, construct and operate large-scale infrastructure projects across Africa with a focus on the energy sector, including power generation, transmission, fuel storage and pipelines.
CHP is a process which generates electricity whilst also capturing usable heat that is produced in this process. This contrasts with conventional ways of generating electricity where vast amounts of heat is simply wasted. In today’s coal and gas fired power stations, up to two thirds of the overall energy consumed is lost in this way, often seen as a cloud of steam.
As an energy generation process, CHP is fuel neutral. This means that a CHP process can be applied to both renewable and fossil fuels.
Combined heat and power, also known as Cogeneration is an energy-efficient technology that generates electricity and captures heat energy that is conserved and reused for domestic and industrial heating or cooling.
Energy is usually lost during conventional electricity generation. Using the CHP technology, the heat discharged into the atmosphere can be captured and conserved.
CHP technology can also be employed to save lost energy that is lost along distribution lines when energy is conveyed to end users. This technology can be used to ensure 40%-80% efficiency for energy generation and distribution. Co-generation technology are employed close to the end user; thus reducing transportation and distribution losses and improving the overall performance of the electricity transmission and distribution network.
We work to identify opportunities where waste thermal energy can be harvested (such as from generators, etc.) and further redirected to fuel other processes in the same organization.
This helps our clients reduce or eliminate recurrent spending on fuel for all their heating or cooling processes by:
1. improving energy efficiency
2. reducing carbon emissions
3. optimizing fuel flexibility
4. lowering company operating costs
